About KnollTextiles

KnollTextiles, founded in 1947 by Florence Knoll, was the first company to address the fabric needs of the commercial interior. Today, KnollTextiles is one of the largest textile suppliers in North America, with products developed for healthcare, hospitality, educational, corporate, and residential interiors.

Under the creative direction of Dorothy Cosonas, KnollTextiles offers some of the most technically advanced materials in the industry, combining beauty and function in the Modernist tradition. KnollTextiles collaborates with cutting edge designers and artists in an exploration of new materials and constructions to produce a collection that is at once forward-thinking and easy-to-use.

KnollTextiles offers a collection of wallcovering, upholstery, drapery, and panel fabrics, as well as Imago™, that work seamlessly together, an approach we call the Integrated Interior™. Our products are designed to not only integrate with one another, but blend harmoniously into your environment, ensuring that they withstand the test of time and taste.

Ms. Cosonas developed an interest in design at a young age. Her grandfather was a painter and fabric merchant; her mother a calligrapher and architectural render. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, where she earned degrees in both fine arts and textile design, she interned at Unika Vaev under Sina Pearson, then the division's creative director. Dorothy was appointed Unika Vaev's director of design in 1994; in 1999 she became a vice president of the firm. She joined Knoll in 2005.
